Latest Fabrics

These first two pictures are some of the recent line by Margo Krager, now with Andover.  It is her first group with them, and we are exited for what is coming as well.  This is Dargate Treasury and the colors are a bit brighter and the variety in the pattern scale is really great.  Lots of fun to play with!

And we've got a lot of other great pieces flowing in - a wide range of colors and styles are available and we have tried to narrow it down to some of the best - some great new color combinations we haven't seen in a bit, gray and peachy coral, some geometrics in brights and some fabulous new batiks of course, added about 15 bolts to our collection...a few repeats and a few new to the australian group and we have a new bunch scheduled to arrive IN August - so we'll keep you posted about that.

This latest group from Moda, by Laundry Basket - plays with the previous group of Snowbird, but this one is equally well named ...Cold Spell - you might want to just wrap up in a bit of that yardage for the next few days...

Our latest fun!

What is better than finishing a project?  Starting a new one of course!  We have some great new fabrics in a variation of colors and styles and as much as I hate to even hint about it, the holidays are sneaking up on us, and you can never start planning too early for festive quilts!

Here is our latest modern mini - featuring the fabulous chambray as the background!  This is actually a pattern for a table runner - just makes 2 placemats if you want to split it in two!

Seaside pattern ~ placemat
We've had this large quilt hanging for a bit in the classroom - and have just a couple of kits left, it is a seasonal favorite quilt here, that features lots of reproduction cheddar and black prints.

Gypsy Wife Class

We are wrapping up the first session of Gypsy wife, and have had some over-achiever's who finished or almost finished their projects before the last class...have you ever heard of that?!  And, we have a new session just getting started so it will be fun to compare the variations in fabric and color choices from amongst the students.  Leslie has even started another version so who knows, a 2nd quilt may be in the future for some of these students as well.   A sampler quilt is always a good choice to keep things interesting!

Here are pictures of a few of the close to completion projects...

Fabric to play with!

This fabric is perfect for a hot summer day when you need some time in the shade - you can color as much as you like and stitch up the perfect pillow or tote for just the right person.  Check out the designer for more details or the inspiration for this fabric.

And of course, our days aren't complete without a bit of fabulous reproduction fabric or new motifs from French General - these work with lots of different decorating styles, not just 1800's reproduction fans.

Trunk Show here!

Eighth Anniversary Doll Quilt ~ Criss-Cross Pathways...
We think this year's small quilt is the perfect combination of scrappy repetition...just enough blocks to keep it fun and plenty of fabric combinations to enjoy.  The pattern and kits are available for purchase on our website or in the shop so stop by soon and visit the quilt in person!

Criss-Cross Pathways
Thanks so much Suz!  So glad you took the time to create our pattern this year - and for those of you who caught a sneak peek at what else Suz created using the same block pattern...she's back in the sweat shop working out a pattern for that project too - so watch for details!  It is a great combination of applique, stitchery and pieced blocks!

The Trunk show of string projects from Rana Heredia of Sewn into the Fabric is on display in the class room!  The projects all feature a combination of string piecing and scraps that will give you some new ideas - stop in before the 22nd to see these colorful quilts in person and you'll surely want to pick a new project and dive into your scraps!

Yep, it's July!

If it is July then you know that means Christmas right?  At least in the quilting world it does!   It must be the heat, cause we never like to do Christmas before the other most important holiday of the year...Halloween.  But for once, we're diving in early.  We are stocking up on all kinds of fun prints for the fall and winter festive seasons!!

Trimming the Tree Kit

Trimming the Tree by Mary Engelbreit
And if you think you're up for a challenge - Sharon will be teaching this intensive feathered star workshop this fall, so think about a a crisp blue and white or a multi-season red and white quilt - this is gorgeous and you can check out the details on our website.  This pattern is from the Marsha Mcloskey book Star of Chamblie.
