Recent finishes and new fabrics

We have added another llama motif to our collection - is this a trend or a fad or just what?  And a few more fun bright geometrics and prints from Riley Blake to mix and match.

Llama Herd for Dear Stella

Riley Blake Vienna Collection
We finished up this Pocket in a Pocket quilt - we had admired this project a loooong time ago when it was featured by Thread Gatherer - they have updated the pattern and included the fun dress cut-out shape to go along with it.  The project features a scrappy background, and mix and match floral prints for the big and little pockets.  Of course, half the fun is choosing combinations of buttons and ribbons to decorate the pockets!  We have some fabric bundles ready to go, and a few full kits if you want to make it just like ours!  We've got a couple of close up pictures below to show-off the pockets - you can fill them with your grandma's hankie collection, or photos, recipes, love letters...make it a functional wall hanging and stuff those pockets full of treasures!

We've got a fun project class coming up with Suz - the perfect summer accessory?
This class is all about the assembly and construction of the Prima Diva wallet - revised!  The original pattern from Sew Many Creations is the basis for our project and Suz has modified her versions a bit so you can pick and choose what components you like best.  You'll do all the precutting and embellishing prior to class - so find your focal fabric or get those orphan hexies out and make it your way!

We've got 2 dates available:  Thursday June 15th or Saturday June 24th.  You can register online or stop by the shop!

Just a reminder we are Closed on Mondays but will stay open on Sundays through the summer this year!

What are you working on?

Are you busy finishing up gifts for graduating seniors, teacher's or class projects?  We can't be more ready for spring weather and summer sewing!

We have this colorful quilt top on display in the classroom - alot of fun to build this project from the Alphabet panel designed by Marcia Derse for Windham fabrics - her upcoming line is looking very good too we look forward to playing with that in a few months!  This project is a combination of snowball blocks and foundation paper pieced wedges.  It goes together fast, once you know where you want your colors to land!

Cartwheels Quilt with Alphabet Panel
This soft color grouping shown below is a new line by Leonie Bateman, the Australian's are taking over from all directions!  We also just added the super versatile Bondi top pattern to our wearables pattern collection, from Sew to Grow, designer Lindsey Marsh also from Australia.

Callington Mill Collection
And this fun woodsy collection would make such a sweet welcome for a new baby or special toddler in your life.

We hope you're enjoying the spring weather and some outside adventures!  Just a reminder that Ski-to-Sea events are coming up this weekend and will be closed for a few hours on Saturday 5/27 due to the Parade that will be messing up our parking lot and store access until mid-day on Saturday.

We are closed on Mondays...and this particular Monday is Memorial Day as well.  Enjoy some extra time with family and friends and the great outdoors if you can!  Usually this would also be the date we switch to being closed on Sundays....but we've decided to stay open this summer on Sundays!

OPEN 12-4 on Sunday even during the summer!  Hope that means you'll want to sew along with us now that we'll be open Sunday All Year Long!

It's all about the Quilts!

We have some great quilty fabrics and books...the latest release from Quiltmania, Primarily Quilts 2 by Di Ford features some gorgeous quilts, and the book was perfectly timed to arrive alongside Di Ford's latest fabric line Bally Hall from Andover Fabrics.  Lots of fun planning projects with both of these items in hand!

And of course, quilts on fabric is never a bad thing - this small motif will be fun for some fussy cutting - not sure whether to plan to include it in an english paper piecing project or eye spy quilt?

Lancaster from Windham Fabrics
The latest edition of Quilt Sampler is here - a great way to have a look at what is going on out and about, without having to leave home.  Of course - you could plan a road trip and take in as many featured shops as you can fit in your schedule!  The RowxRow event isn't far away and that could make the perfect excuse to plan some travels.
