What's Happening Here

We will be closed on LABOR DAY!!

We will be re-opening Sundays starting September 11, Noon-4pm.

And after much consideration, we have decided to CLOSE on Mondays!  This begins with Labor Day September 5th.  Please make a mental note as I know it will be a learning curve for us too!  Habitat For Humanity is also closed on Monday so we aren't the only ones in our neighborhood.  I'm hoping it will be a good opportunity to catch up on paperwork as well as get some dedicated time for samples and displays.  We do appreciate your business and support and hope that you can adjust your shopping plans and visit us Tuesday through Sunday!

Improv Workshop and new choices

We are looking forward to a weekend with Krista...in about a month!  We have a few spots left in the upcoming workshop so now is the time to choose your colors and get ready for a couple of days of play!  If you have been thinking of this but aren't sure - maybe these photos of previous students work will get you inspired to join us.

You can sign up on our website or stop by the store and register.

We've been adding to our collection of Grunge fabrics - some great new colors and these are perfect when you want an almost but not quite solid background.  Lots of texture and added color without a printed motif.
New Grunge by Moda
Some extra wide sateen backing from Tula Pink - there will be a couple from Kaffe in a few more months too - these are gorgeous!
Free Fall 108 inch backing by Tula Pink
Our latest addition to the color club - Mustard!  Not your everyday back to school goldenrod for us.

We picked up a few of these kits from Moda that feature the Thicket fabrics, all boxed up and ready to go home and sew.  If you're feeling like black and white is not the answer this project would be fun to overdye or even color on so a perfect way to make it your own style!

Enjoy these last days of summer as we ease into cooler temperature and earlier evenings just perfect for some hand-stitching time!

Color club and fun!

We've added a few more color bundles of clear bright contemporary fabrics - a fun color-themed category is dictating our monthly selection and would make a great addition to your fabric collection, or a gift for a quilting friend.

We have been adding to our "wall of batiks" and if you haven't been in to admire the new arrangement  - you might be surprised about just how many bolts there are once they're all lined up together!

new batiks
And our favorite store samples at the moment - some are new favorites and some are appearing finished  rather than tops only this year.  Ever have that happen?  Well there's still time to get something done for this season especially if you're hiding out from the heat these last days of summer.  This first project features the pattern Perfect Ten by Swirly Girls - it is a great fat quarter friendly project and versatile for alot of different fabric choices.

Eastham and Candelabra collections

And these fun projects are perfect for fall decorating - a family portrait for the wall and a great throw size quilt combining some favorite spooky bright prints.

For those of you in our local area - we hope you found time to visit the quilts and other fun exhibits at he Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden.  Great to see all the talent showcased and congratulations to everyone that has a ribbon on their quilt!
