Just around the corner!

Wow - how did we get to December already?  I kind of feel like it should be about mid-November in terms of what is still on my list of things to do.  If you are ahead of schedule, or have some time for last minute items for your own decorating, or as gifts to give - we have some fun projects.

The placemat and table runner option - Fundamentally Fun pattern works so well with large scale prints that we'll be featuring this project for every season I think.

Of course Holiday pillowcases are easy and the perfect size for everyone, but these pillows add some fun and festivity to your house.  These are iron-on shapes - and have a fuzzy soft finish, like velveteen without the thickness.  We put the snowflake on the textured essex sparkly cotton linen canvas for some glitz - and this could easily take you through winter, not just the Christmas season.

And of course - we have key fobs and zipper pouches and grocery/shopping bags with fabric choices galore so you can personalize your project for just about everyone and it's almost as easy to stitch up two (one to keep right?!) at a time so stop by for some inspiration and project fixin's!

What's black and small and full of ....turkey?

Yep, that's us, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and soon to be stuffed from Turkey Thursday!  We have been watching the deluge of advertisements and enticements about all these calendar events and we really aren't ready to get up early and compete with big box stores for some combat consumption.

Instead, we just want to say Thank-you for your business and friendship!  We have many things to be grateful for including our wonderful customers - Happy Thanksgiving!

We are closed Thursday and are open regular hours Friday and Saturday 10am-6pm.

In store special Friday, Saturday and Sunday ~ we're offering all of our SALE fabric at $5.00 per yard, one yard minimum cut.

We hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend and that you have the opportunity to enjoy some quality time with family and friends and safe travels!

Fresh Ideas and Fall Leaves

Check out the latest patterns from our local talent Stash Lab Quilts!  Congratulations Tonya on the logo update and new pattern release ~ we love the pressed leaves table runner at this time of year - and we even have a kit ready to go, so you really could get this done for an upcoming dinner celebration or hostess gift if you're lucky and have an invitation out!

Tonya and I met up last week for a quick quilt market recap and update on what's on her sewing table - we even hatched up a plan for something fun in 2018 so watch for news soon!

Ooooohhhh this is the new Liberty of London quilting cotton weight - not the typical london lawns but the familiar small florals!  Perfect for combining with some chambray or art gallery denim!

Of course a few bold batiks could brighten up your sewing table too - the photo below shows just a few of what we added to the shelves.

This Owl panel "Majestic Woods" from Hoffman Fabrics - has so much detail included you might be fooled into thinking it is one of their digitail prints - but it is regular screen printing.  Anyone needing a quilt for a woodsy cabin or something that pairs well with flannels - this combination would be perfect!

Happy Stitching -

Quick Change

Well - what a difference a few days makes...we still have some residual snow from Friday, and I guess that means a changeover in the holiday decor and closet too.  We think this lovely faux fur infinity scarf is purrrfect for transitioning the seasons in style.  We've got a kit with instructions so you can grab and go - ready for the next round of blustery weather!

This new publication, Curated Quilts has alot of great photos, inspiration and perfect to snuggle up with for a lesiurely read when it's too cold and dark to go outside.  This will be a quarterly publication and would make a great gift for someone on your shopping list.

New yardage with some fresh florals will make it easy to start a new quilty project and the first two pictures below feature Alison Glass prints - a couple of lawns and a linen/cotton blend that would stitch up nicely into wearables.

Moda Tuppence

And there is a bit of progress to share on the Pies & Tarts quilt - it has been under construction for so long now that maybe you thought it was a 2nd quilt...but slowly it is growing and I am a bit behind with the tarts, but I think the end is in sight.  Goal for 2017!

Pies and Tarts Update

This english paper pieced project designed by Sue Daley is a great project for travel and certainly has a wow factor that is hard to beat.  You can shop online for the paper pieces and starter fabric bundles if you want to whip one out just like ours!  Fat eighths and Starter Kits available here

Sloth Quilt
This fun jungle print features the latest animal of the moment - a lovely grey sloth!  There are a few other hidden creatures and the tiger and zebra  offer a brighter pop of color - great for a young animal lover!

Stop by soon for  some fresh inspiration and a new fall sewing project.  Stay warm and Happy Stitching!

Flannel Projects!

It's almost time for the temperatures outside to be a bit too close to freezing...and that means a flannel project is starting to sound pretty good!  We have some great bundles if you want to get a rag quilt project started.  We made this sample holiday-esqe rag quilt a few years ago and although we don't have these exact fabrics, we do have some great options - denim and gray colors or fun new plaid and tweed textures.  Let us help you choose a combination that will work for your decor.

Or try a log cabin quilt block - this project can be as scrappy as you want to make it - we have some scrap bags of strips and squares you can supplement your scraps and get going on this cozy project now.  Since the seams can be a bit bulky with flannel - a log cabin block is a good choice.

We have a bunch of flannel choices for the little ones - a few bright and bold choices along with this softer palette from Bunnyhill.  Great for receiving blankets and accessories!

We've combined a bunch of different prints for grab-and-go receiving blanket options - these are a great alternative for an easy baby shower gift or an acquaintance who deserves a handmade gift - these are ideal to stitch up in a hurry or keep on reserve for a go-to gift item.

Hope you're ready for some fall sewing!
