Giveaway Time!

We're going to try something new on the Two Thimbles blog- a giveaway!

For those of you who don't know, we feature a new pincushion at the beginning of every month, and post it on our blog. We always have kits or patterns available, and there's always variety from one month to the next...you can never have too many pincushions, right?!? You can view some of the previous months' projects here.

2T Fans, get ready...we're giving away one of our retired pincushion samples!  The bonus is that this prize is already made for you, so no work on your part! You may even receive an extra surprise along with your pincushion...

Participation is easy- all you have to do is post a comment below, sharing with us: your favorite style of fabric to work with, and what you find inspiring about coming to Two Thimbles. The more creative, the better!

We'll draw a name and announce the winner by midday on Monday, May 21st. Good luck!
Note: We appreciate all participation but we will not be shipping internationally, so please arrange for pick up if you are the lucky winner and you live outside the US.

  1. The last few years I have really enjoyed working with Civil War fabrics. Due to our dark and rainy winters I dig into my lighter "shabby types". The reasons I love to shop at TT are many. I feel appreciated as a customer, the expert color assistance tht I so badly need, also the wonderful variety of workshops and classes. The many talented and prolific quilters and kindred spirits I have met
at TT is another important reason I enjoy the shop. Lee, I think you do a wonderful job of keeping abreast of everything new and upcomming.

  2. I always head straight for the great selection of Batiks. As for inspiration at TT, the numerous samples, the personal greetings when you walk in the door and all the fantastic fabrics, classes, patterns and books that await my visit.

  3. Two Thimbles is a pleasure to visit. It's well organized, tidy and always inspiring. I like to work with prints- mid-century vintage, florals, and bright solids. I've gotten some great sale fabrics there and can't resist the charming pin cushions.

  4. All the great solids are my go to favorites, but when I go in for them, I always find some other great prints that I love, too. The best thing is the way collections are displayed together to inspire new ideas. And I love the classes that you have, too.

  5. I would love to own a premade pincushion as I have purchased most of your kits and either made them for friends or.... the unmade kits are neatly displayed in my sewing room! I love coming south to visit and purchase civil war fabric, you have a fabulous selection.

Fun! Well, I really enjoy working with reproduction fabrics and I really like Lee's choices. There is always an interesting mix of prints to choose  from. Sometimes it's hard to make a decision! I also find coming to the shop sparks my creativity, as there are great displays and fun conversations. Fabric to touch, things to see, kindred spirits, I love this shop!!!!!

  10. I am a Canadian fan of your shop. I discovered your shop on a Quilt Shop Hop a few years ago and I have been coming down to Bellingham to visit your shop ever since!

You have asked us to pick our favorite style of fabric to work with and this is a hard question for me to answer since I love all fabric! LOL However, currently, I am finding a re-newed love for some of the new batiks that have been coming out. My most recently finished quilt was a batik quilt inspired by a recent vacation to Bryce Canyon in Utah.

As far as what I find inspiring about Two Thimbles, I would have to say that the displays/shop samples at the shop are very inspiring. Often I come in with one idea in my head and leave the shop with several more!

  11. I didn't know how much I loved the reproduction fabrics until I found Two Thimbles. We just don't have these available in my area. What I find inspiring is the samples and attention to detail around the shop. The displays are put together with such thought and care.
    Thanks a wonderful shop.
