Reproduction Fabric latest and greatest

We continue to specialize in reproduction fabrics and have a pretty healthy collection of choices to help round out any stash.  And sometimes a more contemporary project can really benefit from something 'old' so maybe there is something to be learned from the old quilts that informs the new?

Check out this bit of history - who knew the modern quilt movement wasn't the first to invent the no border quilt?!  http://www.quiltstudy.org/exhibitions/online_exhibitions/blockbyblock/intro.html

Some of our most recent favorites:

A great read and resource - check out this gorgeous book by Mary and Joe Koval, antique dealers and collectors of vintage quilts.   A book dedicated to their story and their love for quilts filled with photos and stories to spark your inspiration!

And if you're ready to skip the paper pattern tracing step - check out this panel by Laundry Basket Quilts.  Aptly named a Quilter's Canvas - it is a linen & cotton blend with the design outline printed on the fabric!  Boom - let the back-basting fabric selection frenzy begin!  We have the panel as shown as well as a coordinating vine.  A perfect 4 block quilt or center medallion and vine borders...a perfect beginning to create your own project.

And this full collection designed by Michelle Yeo for Riley Blake Designs designs has just arrived!  Les Fleurs de Nantes, and yes...we're working on our french lessons while admiring these gorgeous colors and prints.  These prints will add some spark or might just be the focal piece you want for a spring project.

Happy Stitching!
