Spring Classes

These  photos below are the current status of some of the students work in the current Imagine your Design class - of course, a before shot would be more meaningful to show the progression!  What starts with orphan blocks, theme fabric, or just an inspiration photo can take you places you didn't know you were going!  It's been great fun to see these projects grow and develop as students evaluate their choices and brainstorm with Jane.  See below for the class description for the ongoing series starting up again in May.

*NEW 3-MONTH SESSION*
Imagine Your Design with Jane Buys

Above are some student samples from Jane's last session.  Some beautiful and creative works-in-progress!  If you'd like to design your own quilt(s) or possibly you're already designing but find yourself with a bad case of "Quilter's Block", then Jane's class provides the perfect atmosphere and collaboration to get you headed in the right direction.   Class time will include show and tell and individual consultation with guidance for design possibilities. Inspiration and motivation to help you personalize and design a quilt that's all your own. Appropriate for quilters with some prior experience.

English Paper Piecing isn't just about hexagons and Grandmother's flower garden blocks anymore!  Have you seen the latest Brimfield Block that offers myriad design options for fussy cutting, focal fabric centers and everything in between.  Here are a couple of our sample ideas.

If you like the idea of a perfect portable hand sewing project for travel or 'found time' (aka waiting at doctors offices, watching sports events, etc.) English Paper Piecing could be your new addiction.  We have a few spots left in our basics class where you can learn the skills to tackle any shape on Saturday April 21st.  You can register online or stop by the shop!

A little bit of precision and a whole lot of fun get's packed into a small quilt.  These 9-patch small quilts showcase design choices, with emphasis on value and print scale.  Class time will also be spent establishing some basic skills in accuracy to set you up for success for future projects.  If you've admired some of our scrappy reproduction quilts but have been intimidated on how to transition from big blocks to these smalls, this is a great opportunity to enhance and refine your cutting and sewing skills by spending a day with Jane.   The Shaded 9-patch class is scheduled for  Friday May 18th.
