Slow Stitching with Lisa Mattock

We had an amazing day with Lisa Mattock of Forage earlier this month!  These workshops have been in the works for several months so when the event day rolls around and we have a room full of enthusiastic students and a teacher with stories and talent to share - it feels great to watch it unfold!

This Slow Stitching method was a new style of working for some of our participants and everyone enjoyed playing with a combination of new fabric, vintage treasures and meaningful bits & pieces collected from near and far.  Lisa had a suitcase filled with inspiring samples and vintage textile pieces to showcase her stitching techniques and we can't wait for updates from our students on these works-in-progress!  Thank you so much for spending time with us Lisa....we are looking forward to your next visit!

Settling In

We're still fine-tuning, but we've had a few weeks with our new arrangement and we've found homes for almost all of our fabrics, displays and products!  The Repro Room has received a stamp of approval from several of our customers and we ended up with a pretty nice grouping of Anna Maria Horner prints collected on the back wall that ties in with some of our latest store samples!

The new class space has been getting a work out too - we've hosted some local and international teachers over the last few weeks and we've put our project walls to the test!

Thanks to everyone for your patience as we've worked to reset the shop and we appreciate all the positive feedback too!  We're adding some great new fabrics and store samples to the mix, so stop by soon and check out all the latest!

Springtime colors and flowers

Who needs a few bright florals and geometric prints to add some fresh color to a project?  The additions shown below are pretty fun to play with  - we sliced up a mix of 8 different color ways of Jen Kingwell's 'lollie' fabrics - that's 64 prints in 2 yards worth of fabric for one great punch of color and coordinated mix of prints!

How about a great new book to keep you company during our rainy spring weather?

If you're ready for a spring refresh - we've got some fun textured wools, new soft colors of pearl cotton and perhaps just a splash of old-school solid colors in some easter egg hues?

Just a reminder that we'll be closed for Easter on Sunday the 21st!  We hope you'll be enjoying the day with friends and family and perhaps a chocolate bunny or two!

New Fabric

We always have room for a few more bolts right?!  Here are some of the latest additions to our shelves.  We are continuing to refine our new store layout and have a few more logistics to work out, but most of our displays and fixtures and settling in.  We've even put the classroom through a few workouts so we can finetune our set-up.  Hope you have time to stop by to see what's new and get acquainted with our store update.

1876 Centennial Quilts Display

Stop by the shop and see some of the recently completed quilts from our class held in 2018 here at Two Thimbles - there are a few finishes to admire!  These quilts are big, so we'll have them available for a limited time only.  Reserve time to stop by on Friday the 19th OR Saturday the 20th!  Here's hoping we may motivate a few more works-in-progress to jump past the next construction hurdle too.

There are so many local quilt shows going on right now, we thought we'd add this one to the mix.  You'll want to pick up a few flyers and check our front window for all the latest upcoming quilty events too!
