New Fabric!

We can't go a day without a fabric fix here at the shop!  Here is a quick update on some of our latest additions.  We have some new brights and contemporary batiks too - we're trying to narrow down a few choices for store samples, but it's hard to pick just one or two!  Whether you are planning gifts for others, an update to your home decor or just can't wait to get started on some fall sewing, we've got some great new options.

Garden Wreath Embroidery

We have a gorgeous floral quilt on display in the classroom, have you stopped by to see it?  The 3 dimensional flowers are amazing and this pattern is the basis for our upcoming embroidery class.  If you're interested in either revisiting or improving your stitching skills, this class project is for you!

Restocking

We are continuing to add to our collection of Aboriginal prints featuring all kinds of flora and fauna from Australia.  This group includes an emu, perfect for some fussy cutting options and the large scale kingfisher-like kookaburra in brighter tones.  These are great to mix and match with other fabrics or feature in a special project.

We have been busy tidying up our bins of fabric remnants, bolt ends and odd-sized store sample scraps.  You will find unique, out-of-print and last-of-the-bolt pieces at bargain prices.  We have width of fabric remnants and bolt ends priced by the inch, pre-made 1 Yard scrap bags specially priced and a U-Fill scrap bag station.  We have 1 Gallon bags ready to fill!  Shop early for the best selection!

New Applique Mat

We’ve recently brought in a highly-requested notion: the Design and Appliqué Mat from an Australian company called Matilda's Own. This product was recommended to us by professionals in the quilting field and we quickly fell in love with the design mat’s ability to grip a table top and project firmly, providing a smooth work surface for design transfer and tracing. 

The extreme lightweight material makes a great addition to any travel sewing kit. Even our friends in Australia sing the praises of this appliqué mat. It is two-sided, which allows for extra non-slip support when preparing for appliqué, fabric for tracing, beading, and more. A little bit of color?!

This latest collection of batiks is alot of fun, any bicyclists out there that can relate?   There's a bit of metallic on the spokes fabric and a couple of additional coordinates.  Lots of strong graphic batiks are showing up also that are a more contemporary version of traditional batiks and play well with other fabrics in your stash too!

1800's Stash Rolls

And...they're back!  We've rounded up all our scraps and bolt-ends from our collection of 1800's prints and bundled them into stash rolls.  These goodies feature 12 different fabrics, in 6 inch width-of-fabric strips.  A total of 2 yards priced at $18.95.  Great for your scrap quilts and filling in gaps where you might want more variety.  You can order them on the website, or come in and pick out your favorites.  These bundles won't last long!

Each bundle is different and contains a mixture of fabrics we no longer have yardage for so don't get attached to any of these lovelies!
