We are open by appointment Tuesday through Saturday for individual shopping (it's okay to bring a friend!) from 10:00am - 4:00pm (except as noted above Thursday/Friday).

As our local COVID numbers continue to limit our ability to move to the next phase of opening we will continue with this blend of available hours.  We are excited for re-opening but want to do so in a smart way and do our part to help mitigate the ongoing spread of COVID-19, we really want those schools re-open for business!  

We have implemented a few changes to our shop layout and business practices to help maintain social distancing, upgraded sanitizing efforts and require that all customers wear facial coverings for the duration of their visit.  We appreciate everyone doing their part to take care of our community.

With all the COVID shut-downs and changes to our daily routines, it's been hard to keep track of the calendar....but we're always in the mood for fall and halloween fabrics here!

Did you know that we carry clear vinyl on a 54" wide bolt?  These extra wide goods are great for larger projects and we've also pre-cut some more manageable half-yard (18"x54") pieces for smaller projects...like these fun pouches from Noodlehead Designs and Laura Cunningham.  Great for luggage tags, small pouches, clear pockets on all kinds of travel accessories - you name it!

Small Finishes

It seems since the beginning of the year there has been one distraction or another that has kept me from moving forward with any big project starts.  It's never a lack of ideas, just time to focus and give some time to planning and choosing.  Although our recent late winter did create a bit of extra sewing time!  I hope you took advantage of those snow days too and have some recent finishes or exciting starts to get your sewing mojo happening for 2019!  

We are working on some new class ideas and also gearing up for some new projects - here are a couple of our recent finishes!

I really enjoy using these bag patterns designed by Anna Graham / Noodlehead.  Lots of details and well written instructions!

Another great pin cushion pattern from Heart to Hand!  This one includes patterns for 3 different pin cushions designs. In addition to the patterns, we've got lots of wool and ribbon to get your creative juices flowing and if our store sample happens to speak your language...well, we've got a kit for you too!!

2T Did You Know?

Did you know that 2T now carries two versions of Pellon Flex-Foam interfacing?  Flex-Foam is lightweight and has a foam core.    Use Flex-Foam with your favorite fabrics to add body and shape when sewing tote bags, purses, computer cases, diaper bags and organizers.  We have the fusible (fusible on one side) as well as the sew-in version.

We have the fabulous Maker's Tote pattern by Noodlehead in stock that utilizes this product and our version of the All Sewn Up Sewing Kit pattern designed by May Chappell.  This product is the perfect combination of support and structure and takes your project to the next level!  

Projects and fabrics and crafty fun!

Have you seen our back-to-school display? Yep - that box of Crayola's is filled with fabrics from Riley Blake, not sidewalk chalk or crayons!  We had some fun doing the improv letter signs and think there are endless ways you could incorporate a few words into a quilt or quilt back...a favorite quote, the recipient's name for a gift quilt or important words to live by.  A great way to play with fabric.    

And you could go home with some of our favorite leftovers...we've got u-fill scrap bags available until we run out of scraps.  Could that happen I wonder?  

We've had some great customer show and tell lately with these fun projects, a great bag using the heavier weight linen & cotton blend fabric and a pretty sweet dress for a young person from a special piece from cotton + steel fabrics.

Now that we've had some days of cooler weather and rain, it's time to dust off the sewing tables and get those projects back on track!  Fall sewing weather is officially here.

Latest quilts and projects

Here's a new little quilt from our Anniversary pattern Criss-Cross pathways - this version we used a few less fabrics and limited the colors to a subdued gray and blue combination - the inspiration came from this larger quilt pictured below that features a great stripe border from the Settlement collection of fabrics Jeanne Horton for Windham fabrics.  Again, we mixed up some blues and grays and added a touch of charcoal for emphasis.  The pattern is fat quarter friendly and you can go as scrappy as you like - so this would be a good one to use up some leftover reproduction fabrics and mix and match as you choose.  The pattern, New Market is from Red Crinoline quilts.

We've been busy preparing for fall...you know that means lots of fun and festive Halloween preparations but in addition to costumes and chocolate - we've gotten a couple of bags made lately - they are both from Noodlehead patterns - and I am really pleased with the construction methods and details she covers in the patterns.  There are some other really great projects in the new book - Handmade Style besides bags so stop by and check 'em out!  These bags have left for good homes but I think I've got ideas for a few more favorite fabric combinations.....
