Color Club/Leaves and Vine

We have this fun and bright quilt hanging up behind the counter, it is a project from the Sunday Morning Quilts book which we have used for various store projects and scrap control planning!  This one includes some old and new fabrics combining fabric right off the shelves with others from our scrap bin!  A lot of fun to create and we mixed it with some bright leaves done up in wool with a bit of extra stitching for fun.  This project could work in a lot of different color palettes, and you can certainly have a great time playing!  We have some inspiration fat quarter fabric bundles and kits ready to go if you are looking for a new project.

Just in time for Mother's Day gift-giving, we are introducing our first Color Club Bundle! Individual fabrics may vary, but the photos above should give you an idea of the beautiful fabric combinations you can expect. Each month, we will create bundles within a unique color theme...this month it is Aqua! Each bundle comes with 8 fat quarters, and we even packaged up a few in festive gift boxes. Pick them up individually, or we can sign you up to receive a new bundle each month!

And - there is nothing better than seeing your name in print right?  Two Thimbles is listed on the Sweetwater fabric that has perhaps just a few of your favorite shops listed?  Surely to be a fabric collectors staple.

We have been busy unpacking boxes and squeezing new fabric onto the shelves - a few books and a few new samples are finding their places around the store as well.  We've got a great variety of fabrics filling up the store - and the options range the color and style spectrum.

It's not often that we get to feature a cover quilt in the shop - but we have Tonya's cover quilt (Stash Lab) on display for a bit longer before it heads to Houston for a backdrop and booksigning.  Congratulations Tonya and thanks for sharing!!

Charming Fractions~Aboriginal Fabrics

This quilt features some of the australian prints we now stock - it's a versatile pattern, using fat quarters, and you can't go wrong combining these fabrics.  Our latest modern mini below, from the Jaybird Quilt series - this one is called science fair.  I think our photo washed out the colors - so it is more vibrant but still neutral and a good change up from the brighter mini's we featured previously.

With this weather it is sure a good time for eating outdoors, and maybe some cool watermelon isn't a bad plan either!  These placemats are quick to stitch together and would make great hostess gifts, shower gifts or a nice addition to your one-size-fits-all gift stash.

The Palampore is here!!

Well the goods are pouring in, you can tell I had too much fun back in October at Quilt Market in Houston!  The very special Palampore panel has arrived, which coordinates with the Tree of Life fabric collection.  All are designed by Mary Koval for Windham fabrics.  The Palampore is quite large, and pretty unique.  We are working on plans for a quilt, but haven't got one whipped up just yet...The amazing toile print comes in red, blue and brown and is pretty spectacular along with the Palampore panel.  We have it posted on the website so you can take a look at it there, the colors are much better in person so stop by soon to see the one we have hanging up in the classroom.
