What to do but Quilt?!

What can we say...quilting and quilt shows are a great distraction and at the same time a great way to focus!  We have had the pleasure of hosting Gwen at a few different workshops over the past several years, and we enjoy seeing her art on display.  What a great talent and wonderful lady!  Do take the time to see this exhibit in La Conner!  There are several other exhibits showing at the museum as well -  including one showcasing pieces by local talent Sharon Tucker.  Great work!

We are pretty much done with winter, cold, ice, snow...etc.  How about you?  We hope your winter travels have been easy to navigate as there certainly has been some variety depending on where you're at and which way the wind is blowing.  You can't go wrong with a winter quilt project (or 3) and if you've got some binding to accomplish, now is the time!  We have lots of new fabrics coming in with only a few weather related shipping delays - new books from Quiltmania should be arriving early next month too!  Can't wait...

2014 in review

As we worked to complete our year-end inventory process and consolidate paperwork in preparation for annual taxes (yep, that is what owning a quilt shop is all about...!), we were reminded of some of our completed projects that we have sprinkled out into the world.  Perhaps you were involved in one of these fundraising activities and recognize our projects too?

We are overloaded with new fabrics...we went all out for this great new collection from Moda - nice denim blue shades and marine motifs.  We have a fun variety of samples coming for this collection so watch for updates on the projects in the works...

Do you have a musician in the family that needs a quilt?  Of course, you could make a piano cover, like they did in the victorian days of crazy quilts - they have a special display at La Conner you should check out.  Sue Spargo has an amazing collection of quilts on display in La Conner as well  - from the fun fabric combinations and embellishing all the way through to some amazing quilting.  The display ends March 23rd so don't miss it!
