New Goods and Shop Hours

We've added this group of great reproduction prints recently - Walnut Creek by Julie Hendricksen for Windham Fabrics, and they are on the website.  We also have the stack of 5 inch squares if you want to have a little bit of the entire collection - these are great for English Paper Piecing and applique shapes!

We finished up a new sample quilt - featuring a pack of precut Tonga batik strips that get you off to a quick start for a fast finish with limited cutting!  We've got this combination as a kit, or packs of precut strips if you have a different favorite strip friendly project in mind.  We added a border to this project to make it a bit larger and backed it with flannel for a perfect fall couch quilt.

And of course - some perfect project inspiration and fresh ideas are always an option with Quiltmania books and then some new choices from Jen Kingwell too.  These books offer a wide range of style and technique options ranging from applique and english paper piecing techniques to the hand-piecing work that Jen favors.

Our path to reopening will continue to evolve and with our website upgrade, we hope you'll consider that method of shopping for increased access to our fabrics.   We now offer a choice of curbside pickup for online purchases and we can accommodate a larger range of hours for curbside delivery. We will continue to update our shop hours here and on our website so please check back for current information!

We are open by appointment for individual shopping

Toweling Trunk Show

We've got a ready made display up in the shop - my favorite kind of sample!  These projects all feature cotton toweling and we've got some great new colors and stripes added to the shelves along with all of these project patterns designed by Pieces to Treasure.

Some of the new color way available in cotton toweling neutral gray and charcoal, almost black.  We've also got a few pieces of Janelle's new line of toweling from the Picnic Point line.

Looking Forward by Jen Kingwell

We've added some of Jen Kingwell's latest group to our shelves as well - these versatile stripes are great to mix into your stash for a fun punch of color.

Delilah final count down...

We are close to wrapping up our year-long effort on Delilah, and things will be coming together quickly now.  We have had a couple of photos shared by our customers - and it is ahhh mazing how these blocks change with a tweak of color placement and fabric choice!

Delilah Month 8

More blocks to add to the stack!  These blocks are 9 inch now, so working a bit smaller and although I've been working on this project for several months, my stack of mis-cuts continues to grow. Somehow, reverse isn't always reversed when I start to assemble the pieces!

We have some other blocks to share and it is great to see what these fabric variations highlight in each block.

Something Dotty!
Barbara's month 7

I'm looking forward to combining the blocks to see how the layout for this quilt comes together.  Time to get serious about any last minute color tweaks!

Delilah, making progress?

For those of you following our Delilah TOM project, designed by Jen Kingwell - we are making progress!  These are month 7 blocks and the busy combinations continue!  It is amazing to see the variations in the blocks depending on the fabric emphasis for color value placement.  For those of you participating through our shop send us your pictures and we'll add them to our posts!

These blocks below are featuring Carolyn Friedlander fabrics from Robert Kaufman and the effect is distinctly different!

If you love the variety of these Delilah blocks - you'll be pleased to hear that Jen is planning a pattern/booklet for 2018, watch for updates on it's release in the new year!

Delilah Template of the Month Program

Delilah ~ The Template of the Month (TOM) program created by Jen Kingwell is just around the corner!

The kick off is March 2017 for this 12 month program. A limited number of stores are participating – so this is a great chance to be part of a bigger event through your local quilt shop.   It's not too late to start now!

Each month you'll receive a block pattern and associated acrylic templates. Block sizes range from 6 to 12 inches, and setting blocks are 3 inches and each month you'll make a few blocks.  The quilt is super scrappy, great for building skills and you could always get creative and make it your own ~ add a border, change the layout, repeat blocks, you name it!

Finished size approx. 66 x 69

We still have a few spaces left to fill in the program, and you can register to receive monthly fabric stacks that will be similar to the flavor of Jen's version - but with a 2T spin.   Here is a peak at one of our first blocks!

Delilah 2T month one

It's not too late to join the fun - there will be lots of online sharing and we're also planning a monthly sewing support session with Jan Hudson.  You can register for the monthly templates, sewing session and our fabric bundles here!

Delilah BOM and Moving on Lawns

Drum roll please....One of the great opportunities that I jumped to take advantage of at quilt market was the chance for our shop to participate in Delilah, the upcoming 2017 Template of the Month project designed by Jen Kingwell.  There will be a limited number of shops participating so that makes it a bit of an opportunity for us, and it's always fun to have a new WIP to anticipate as the new year quickly approaches.

The project will start in March and will include a pattern and template set each month for 12 months.  Block sizes will vary and the designs are suitable for machine or hand-piecing or a combination of methods as you prefer.  We'll be offering a fabric kit option as well - but the details won't be available for that part until 2017.  We'd love to have  you join us in creating a unique quilt in the Jen Kingwell style - you can register on our website or stop by the store.

DELILAH

TEMPLATE OF THE MONTH

Samples of Jens Blocks from Quilt Market, still a work in progress
And of course - the latest fabric line by Jen Kingwell "Moving on Lawns" - we have mini-charms and  charm packs and a healthy selection of the fabric line.  You'll want to check these out and adopt a few to co-mingle with your other favorites!  A great variety of geometrics and print scale that play well with others...

Just a reminder we're open 12-4 on Sundays - and we'll be closed this week on Thursday for Thanksgiving.  We'll be spending time on Thursday with family and friends and hope you find time to relax, stitch a little and enjoy some good company as well!
