Store Hours and New Fabric

We caught the afternoon sunlight on this tree across the street from the shop - if you pop by soon, you might find the leaves still on it and the pavement dry!  But then again, more rain means more time for stitching right?!

Our path to reopening will continue to evolve and with our website upgrade, we hope you'll consider that method of shopping for increased access to our fabrics.   We now offer a choice of curbside pickup for online purchases and we can accommodate a larger range of hours for curbside delivery. We will continue to update our shop hours here and on our website so please check back for current information!

The latest issue of Quiltfolk is on the shelf - the subject is Family rather than a geographical focus for this issue.  It makes for a great rainy day read!  We've also got some other new Quiltmania books and quilt project books ready to inspire you for some winter sewing!  

 

Some of or most recent additions to the fabric shelves cover all the options - bright and bold as well as lighter florals - some holiday options too.  One of our upgrades to the website - is a search feature so you can find these goodies by the Collection name or 'Holiday' for your Halloween and Christmas favorites!

New Hours

We are taking some time to reevaluate our shop practices and consider what our new path will look like in terms of operating hours and offerings.  Finding a balance between what works for the shop and our modified personal lives with work from home, online school and the various other changes we are all facing means it isn't business as usual.   The relocation of our local homeless shelter to the adjacent city block, along with the state mandates on occupancy levels and mask wearing, COVID sanitizing and social distancing protocols all impact our ability to operate comfortably.

We're still unwrapping holiday fabric bolts and anticipating some quality evening stitching with the latest bout of stormy weather and earlier dark hours arriving this past week - all the projects seem possible!

We've added these new woven plaids and stripes in bold colors and neutrals - they're even on our new expanded website!!  This new collection is from Alison Glass for Andover Fabrics - perfect for home dec and mixing into quilt projects too!   The latest arrivals from Quiltmania were unboxed yesterday, and looks like I'll be reordering soon...is it too early to put something under the Christmas tree for yourself?

As our local COVID numbers continue to restrict business activity and school operations we have limited hours.  We feel it is important to be part of the solution and want to do our best to help mitigate the ongoing spread of COVID-19.   We are transitioning to new school schedules and will reset our shop hours once we have an idea about our homeschool obligations.  

We are open for walk-in shopping on Thursday and Friday from 1:00 - 4:00pm 

and

 Saturday 11:00 - 2:00pm. 

There are a few appointments available on these days as well for individual shopping, if openings are available they will be reflected on the calendar in the link.  Please use the website booking tool to reserve a spot. 

We have implemented some changes to our shop layout and business practices to help maintain social distancing, upgraded sanitizing efforts and require that all customers wear facial coverings for the duration of their visit.  In-store retail visits are encouraged to adhere to the recommended 30 minute limit per Washington State safe-start guidelines.  If you would like assistance with your project or selecting fabrics please consider making an appointment to ensure staff availability.

Did you Know Mask Making Is A Thing....

Yep, we have a kit for that!  If you're looking for a way to speed up your mask-making endeavors, be sure to check out our die-cut Face Mask Kits!  All fabric and interfacing has been pre-cut with the precision of a die and is ready for you to stitch up! Each kit includes everything you need to make four masks including adhesive backed nose bars, sew-in interfacing, flat elastic and extra fabric should you prefer fabric ties!  

We've included batiks for higher thread count options and paired up some fun fabrics too - just another way to keep things interesting while you sew!  Each kit combination is unique and some include quieter prints if understated is more your look! 

At the moment, we're well stocked with 1/4 inch elastic in a few colors and flavors, so stop by if you're ready for a restock on that.  

Once we have an adequate supply of precut mask kits we'll get these up on the website - until then, if you're interested, give us a call or email or stop by during open hours Friday 1-4 and Saturday 11-2!

 We have a new Website!!! 

It's been a long process and the learning curve hasn't been too pretty, but we think the new features and the additional inventory make for a rather remarkable update!  We have lots more inventory to add and some fun new projects to photograph so we'll be adding more to the site in the coming weeks.  

We've added a local pick up option so you can arrange for curbside pick up more easily!  And of course, the website is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and no masks are required!  Take a look and let us know what you think.    www.twothimbles.com
