Memorial Day Weekend

We are closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day!

Just a reminder the Ski to Sea Parade starts at Noon on Saturday, and there is limited access to the shop for a few hours.  We'll be here before and after the Parade - so plan your timing and route accordingly tomorrow.  If you're out and about participating in the race or enjoying the event as an observer have a great long weekend!

This is our last open Sunday until the rainy season hits again...which in theory starts again after Labor Day, but our weather doesn't always cooperate with our sewing plans right?

Here is a variation on a coins quilt - we were inspired by one from Humble Quilts when Lori was in town for a lecture at one of our local guilds.  We stitched up a variety of random strips in black, red, claret and shades of blue and had a bit of fun with the sashing strips and mixing fabrics from scraps with a new charm pack featuring vintage shirting and dress prints designed by Barbara Eikmeier for Paintbrush Studios.  Perfect use for a quilt following a patriotic theme as this line of fabric is grown, spun, woven and printed in the USA.  We have some fabric starter kits as well as the charm pack shown.  If you're interested in more details about our quilt or the bundles, give us a call or stop by the shop.

We yelled and cried and carried on and Marcus Brothers heard all about it...the centennial solid fabric in Cheddar is BACK!  We are thrilled and really appreciate that our fabric rep and the company listened - hope this makes your day too.

And lastly - these hand-dyed twill weave flannels need a new home...they are great paired with wool for applique projects and we've used them on the back of a few of our sample quilts.  Some have more varigation in the color shading than others so you have to see them unrolled for a better idea.  $6.00 / yard til they're gone!

We hope you  have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.  June is on it's way!
