Quilts for Little Ones!

We are currently open by appointment Tuesday through Saturday

Please use the booking tool on our home page to reserve a time for in-store shopping.  https://www.twothimbles.com/

We will expand the appointment offerings if needed, so please let us know if you have tried to book and no appointments were available!  This method provides an opportunity for our customers to feel confident in their shop experience while also limiting the exposure and responsibilities for our team, allowing us to provide service to in-store shoppers while also continuing to fulfill orders and complete other tasks with limited staff and shorter hours.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We have implemented a few changes to our shop layout and business practices to help maintain social distancing, upgraded sanitizing efforts and require that all customers wear facial coverings for the duration of their visit.  We appreciate everyone doing their part to take care of our community - we certainly don't want to backtrack on the progress we've made.

We appreciate your ongoing patronage and look forward to seeing you in the shop soon Or give us a call and we'll help you shop over the phone!

We are available Tuesday through Saturday from 10am - 4pm

Although it seems like the world has been on hold since mid-March, some of our customers are greeting new arrivals from afar during this crazy time.  Here are a few of our favorite options for small quilts!  The simple star below, starts with a charm pack and a free pattern from Moda Fabrics, we've got this combination in a soft peachy pink or blue in case you need to cover all the options!!

And for summer babies or hot climates - a simple whole cloth blanket of cotton lawn makes a super soft and comfortable wrap!  We've got some florals and a few geometrics in stock.  We've also combined flannel and lawn for a quick receiving blanket that gives you the perfect flexibility for our changeable summer weather.

We've got some flannel combinations packaged and ready to go - you can add some soft mini pom-poms to the edge for a fun finish or decorative stitching and rounded corners!  Traditional binding from soft cotton lawn or a deep wrapped and mitered corner edge provides a special finish too.  Lots of options to personalize and make your project a special gift to make and receive.

Happy Stitching!

Favorite Baby Quilt Pattern

Storybook Star Baby Quilt

Need a quick baby gift?  Well how about this adorable Storybook Star Baby Quilt?!?

This has not only been a store favorite but is also a personal favorite.  I've made this little sweetie up in lots of different print/fabric combos over the years and I'm usually a pretty big deal at the baby shower...just sayin'.  A few reasons I like it so much...   First, it's size is perfect for a new baby (approx. 39"x39") and works great as a car seat or stroller blanket.  Second, I only have to select 3 or 4 fabrics and last, it's a free pattern from Moda Bakeshop (the original design featured a charm pack for a scrappier version).

If you want to create something similar to this version, we can help you select the perfect combination of fabrics for a new little one in your life and share our tips!  We'd love to know if you have a favorite go-to baby quilt pattern.

Latest Additions

We've got a few new finishes to start off our spring season - this small quilt is a variation on one we've done previously, it's a free one on the Moda Bakeshop website.  We modified this version to use yardage, rather than a charm pack, and the center square features a fussy cut portion of the lovely border print from Michael Miller called Mermaid Magic.

Mermaids and Dragons
And a fun and bright small through from the Tumbling Blocks pattern by It's Sew Emma - this pattern is fat quarter friendly so it is a versatile project and a quick finish too!

Modern Tyke Tumbling Blocks

We've got fabric and patterns for both of these projects!  We have a couple of other quilts underway and lots of new inspiration on the shelves - great new books and lots of new fabric lines!  Some great variety and a few new charm packs and mini-charms if you want a sampling of Liberty Gatherings or Tabby Road.
